Training course for journalists from Jordan, Egypt

The International Institute for Journalism (IIJ) of GIZ has announced a one-week "Economic and Financial Reporting" for journalists from Jordan and Egypt, in Amman, Jordan, from April 29 to May 3, 2012.
 

 

The course, which is premised on the Arab spring and the world financial crisis, targets journalists in the region. It will include topics on economic policy, economic theory, figures and statistics, and the financial sector.

Participants will be equipped with skills that will enhance their understanding economic concepts, the challenges of the current economic policy in their countries, and improve their skills on comprehensible and fact-based writing.

Open to journalists from Jordan and Egypt who have a strong interest in economic and financial reporting, potential participants must have a good knowledge of the English language, and have a minimum of four years of professional experience. They must also get paid leave during the duration of the course.

Deadline for submission of application materials: March 18, 2012.
