UN population chief Radtizai Ndhlovu to assist Borno displaced persons

The United Nations Population Fund country representative in Nigeria, Ms Radtizai Ndhlovu, on Monday, October 26, 2015 arrived Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on a five-day visit to offer humanitarian support services to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs in the state.

 

Ndhlovu told journalists shortly after landing at the Maiduguri International Airport, that the UN is concerned about the plight of IDPs in the three severely affected states in the North-East.

 

She said that the mission was to personally assess the challenges of the IDPs and offer direct intervention.

 

According to her, the IDPs will be provided with reproductive and dignity kits as well as psychosocial counseling services.
