Training course on Economic and Financial reporting

Applications are now being accepted for the International Institute for Journalism (IIJ) of GIZ 2012 Economic and Financial Reporting course scheduled to hold in Berlin, Germany, February 9 to April 13, 2012.

 
The course targets business and economic writers of newspapers, online editors, and news agencies from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malawi, Pakistan, Rwanda, Senegal, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Selection for the course, which will be conducted in English, is highly competitive, as only 15 journalists will be selected  for the course. Participants will gain knowledge in the logic of accounting, reporting markets and companies, consumer affairs and information, reporting national budgets and economic policies, covering the central bank, commercial banks and financial markets, the world trade system, and general business news writing skills.
 
General requirements:
 
Have minimum of 4 years professional experience
Have good computer skills
Must be proficient in English
Be given paid leave during period of the course
