Thieves burgle NAN Jos office, cart away valuables
Thieves, at the weekend, broke into the Jos zonal office of the News Agency of Nigeria and carted away valuables.
The robbers gained access after removing the burglar-proof of the back window in the zonal manager’s office.
They carted away a HP laptop, charger, two modems, flash drive, USB cord, a Nokia handset, a digital camera, a mini audio recorder and some cash.
Speaking on the incident, the Zonal Manager, Mr. Ephraims Sheyin, described it as “very shocking.”
“It is very devastating; the laptop contains flash drive, camera and the cord and lots of other valuable information and I am honestly at a loss,” he said.
NAN reports that the thieves only targeted the manager’s office, as other offices were not tampered with.
Divisional Police Officer, Anglo, Jos, Mr. Adisa Momoh, confirmed the incident and said two of the agency’s security men had been arrested.
“We have arrested two security men of the office and they are helping us in our investigations,” he said.
Momoh promised to intensify investigation into the incident till the culprits are brought to book.
