Taraba Election Tribunal sacks Darius Ishaku as Taraba gov, declares Aisha Alhassan winner

The Taraba State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal headed by Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar, sitting in Abuja, on November 7, 2015 declared Aisha Alhassan the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress party as the duly elected governor and winner of the the April 11, 2015 governorship election. 

The verdict of the tribunal implies that Darius Ishaku, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who has since paraded himself as governor of the state, has been removed, has his victory has been nullified by the verdict. 

It also imples that Alhassan becomes the first female elected governor in Nigeria.

It will be recalled that ‎Alhassan was among those that were recently cleared by the Senate to take up ministerial appointment under President Muhammadu Buhari's administration.
