Summer Academy course on Freedom and Responsibility in the Media in Hamburg

Journalists from Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Nepa, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Senegal, Tunisia, Uganda, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia and Zimbabwe, working for print and online media, as well as in news agencies, who have a minimum of two years of professional experience, can now apply for the Summer Academy "Freedom and Responsibility in the Media" course to be held in Hamburg, Germany from July 22 through to Aug. 17, 2012.

 

 

The Academy will include topics on concepts of media systems and media freedom in different cultures, journalism ethics, press freedom and economic development, freedom of information, sensitive reporting, reporting corruption, as well as writing workshops.

 

General requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of two years of professional experience
  • Must be not older than 30 years
  • Must be in permanent employment with good chances of promotion
  • Must be proficient in the English language
