A former Green Eagles player, Segun Odegbami on Wednesday, commended the Super Falcons on their well-deserved 6-0 victory against Zambia at the ongoing Africa Women's Championship in Namibia.
The former Captain said the women's football continued to perform above expectation in spite of the lack of support the women’s league had suffered.
Falcons won their match against Cote d’Ivorie 2-0 and crushed Chipolopolo of Zambia 6-0 in Windhoek.
He said, "They are doing so well and at times I wonder how they have been able to maintain their dominance all this while.
"It is not that their league receives attention as it should, but they away seem to know what they want and we always receive kudos for them.
"Our league is not developed enough, we should take it to the schools. Women's league needs more support, and they have earned it.
"They need more sponsorship for the league and endorsements for players, they are good brand that should be promoted, and Nigerians need to appreciate them.
"They have done well. It’s just a matter of time before they take over the world and not just Africa."
Falcons have won the tournament eight times, a feat that has not been attained by any other team since it began in 1991.
