Scriptwriting Training in The Netherlands
Applications are now being invited for the RNTC's "Soap and Society: Making Drama for Development" course, which is designed for mid-career programme-makers, drama scriptwriters, with at least three years experience in the field of educational broadcasting, to train in The Netherlands.
The RNTC, a centre for media, education and development, attached to Radio Netherlands Worldwide, targets media professionals from developing countries and countries in transition - Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Autonomous Palestinian Territories, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Georgia, Ghana, Guatemala, Guinea-Bissau, Honduras, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Kenya, Kosovo, Macedonia, Mali, Moldova, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Surinam, Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
The course is aimed at strengthening the capacity of broadcast drama writers and programme-makers, as well as that of the organizations they work for, to design, write and broadcast drama serials, which can help to raise public awareness and change attitudes on issues to do with development of their societies.
