Journalists from Lebanon, Palestine and Syria can apply for this fellowship.

The Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism is seeking applicants for its Said-Asfari Fellowship. The fellows will attend weekly seminars and occasional special lectures on journalism, and will be encouraged to attend other academic and social events at Oxford University. Each selected fellow will focus on a self-selected topic, leading to a substantial research paper of at the end of the session.

Applicants should submit a proposal outlining a specific research topic. This is normally related to the business, economic and/or social development of a country or of its media.

Candidates should have five years of experience in journalism, but exceptional applicants who do not meet this requirement will also be considered.

The ideal candidates will be based in the Levant region of Egypt or intend to work there upon the completion of the fellowship.

The deadline for applications is Sept. 1.
