25/01/2019 12:51

The Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, has said it has arrested two suspected human traffickers and rescued three of their victims in Katsina State.

The NIS Comptroller in the state, Ajisafe Joshua Olusola, disclosed this during a press briefing on January 24, 2019.

Olusola identified the suspects as Omoseyin Solomon, 43, and Omoniyi Olowoporoku, 32, all males.

He said they were arrested separately at Mazanya and Daura Patrol Border Base between January 17 and 19, 2019.

He said that one of the suspected human traffickers, Solomon, claimed to be husband to his victim, Akinbayo Ashobi, a woman known to also be a human trafficker.

He, however, said that the suspects would be handed over to the service headquarters for further investigations and necessary actions.
