Nigerian Army arrests another Boko Haram terrorist in Adamawa
The Nigerian Army says it has arrested another suspected Boko Haram insurgent, who was declared wanted by the military authorities last week.
The Acting Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, disclosed this in a statement noting that the suspected terrorist identified as Ishaku Wardifen was arrested by soldiers of the 23 Brigade Special Battalion at a checkpoint in Maiha, Adamawa State.
Usman said that the arrested terror suspect was a Camerounian listed as the 22nd suspect in the list of 100 suspects declared wanted by the the Nigerian Army.
According to him, the suspect had been handed over to the Military Intelligence for further interrogation.
"As all hands are on deck to finally defeat Boko Haram terrorists in our country, today in the morning, another suspected Boko Haram terrorist, declared wanted, Ishaku Wardifen, was nabbed by vigilance troops of 23 Brigade Special Battalion at a check point in Maiha, Adamawa State.
"Preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspected terrorist is a Camerounian citizen.
"Visual matching with photographs on the poster of the 100 declared suspected Boko Haram terrorists wanted list, released by the Nigerian last month, shows that he clearly resemble the suspect on serial number 22 on the list.
"The suspect has been handed over to military intelligence for further investigation and possible prosecution," he said.
