Lagos pledges enabling environment for investors

The Lagos State Government has said that it would provide an enabling environment that would attract investors to the state to boost its revenue generation.

Special Adviser to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on Overseas Affairs and Investment, Prof. Ademola Abass, made the statement when officials of the Centre for Global Solutions and Sustainable Development visited his office in Lagos.

Abass said the state would provide security to investors’ interests in the state.

He said, “We must be able to provide security to investors’ investments. Investors cannot come in if there is no security.

“During the governorship campaign, we insisted on secure sector reform where you have justice security system.

“We want to be able to tell our investors that once there is a problem, we have a justice system they can look up to.

“We have created an enabling environment for them.”

The adviser decried the hurdles faced by investors at the point of entry that were considered discouraging.

“But we are working hard to ease all that,” he said.

On the advocacy of the Sustainable Development Goals, Abass said other ministries would be engaged to promote sustainable development.
