The wife of the late Nelson Mandela, Graca Machel has met with parents of Chibok girls who were abducted more more than a year ago by the dreaded Boko Haram sect.

Machel met with some of the girls' parents in Lagos on Friday giving them words of encouragement to remain strong and hopeful.

"I shook hands with all of you and feel what is in your blood... I share the pain with you of not knowing when the girls will come back," she reportedly told the parents.

She also urged Nigerian and the international community to do more to secure the freedom of the girls.

The meeting was said to have been organised by the Murtala Muhammed Foundation to support the parents as they deal with the trauma they have had to face since the abduction of over 200 schoolgirls from the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, on April 14, 2014.
