President Jonathan sacks NNPC company secretary, Anthony Madichie

President Goodluck Jonathan has sacked the Coordinator, Legal Services and Company Secretary of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Anthony Madichie.

Madichie held the position since February 2011.

The statement by the President's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, indicated that Mr. Ikechukwu Oguine has been approved as Madichie's replacement. It gave no reasons for the removal of Madichie.

Oguine who was previously the General Counsel of Chevron Nigeria Limited and has been a partner in Advisory Legal Consultants, a Law Firm specialising in oil, gas, power and mining, has more than 29 years of legal experience.

He hails from Anambra State like his predecessor.
