Four soldiers, 22 terrorists die in Boko Haram clash

Four soldiers and 22 Boko Haram terrorists died in a clash, when the terrorists attempted to over-run troops in Logomami, Borno State. 

 

A statement, confirming the incident, by Col Sani Usman said: “At 1a.m., today (Sunday), some suspected remnants of Boko Haram fighters attacked our troops at Logomani along Dikwa-Gambarou Road, Borno State. 

 

“The terrorists came in from three directions, using hand grenades and rocket-propelled launchers. 

 

“Our troops fought gallantly and repelled the attack which lasted for about one hour. 

 

“At the end of the fierce encounter, the troops counted 22 dead bodies of Boko Haram fighter. They also recovered two AK-47 rifles, one FN rifle, one G3 rifle and some 36 hand grenades. 

 

“Unfortunately, we lost four soldiers and their rifles as a result of the rocket-propelled grenades, while two soldiers were wounded. 

 

“The wounded have been evacuated for further medical management. 

 

“The location has been reinforced and replenished, while the troops have continued their clearance operations.”
