Diezani Alison-Madueke becomes new OPEC president

Diezani Alison-Madueke, Nigeria’s Minister of Petroleum Resources has been announced as the new President of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
She was elected today at the ongoing 166th General Meeting of the OPEC in Vienna, Austria.
She becomes the first woman to hold the position.
