Creative Writing Workshop for Budding Writers

The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) in collaboration with the Nigerian Academy of Letters (NAL) is billed to hold a Creative Writing Workshop for budding writers, in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria, Sunday, November 7 to Saturday, November 13, 2010. The workshop would be run by distinguished resource persons, established writers and experienced publishers/consultants.

 

Intending participants must have a flair for writing and must have been published in a creative outlet or must have unpublished samples of creative materials. 

 

Requirements for the different sub-genres of writing are as follows: 

 

Poetry: Three (3) samples are to be forwarded in.

Prose fiction:  A composition of not more than 5, 000 words is required, if meant to be a full-length novel, then the writer should
indicate, as clearly as possible, the extent and development of the plot. 

 

Short Stories: Three (3) pages of text, typed double-spaced, should be adequate. 

Drama: A short dramatic sketch of not more than three (3) pages should be forwarded.

Deadline: September 30, 2010. 

 


 Successful applicants will be entitled to the following:

  • Roundtrip transport allowance to and from workshop venue.
  •  
  • Hotel accommodation for the duration of the workshop.
  •  
  • Lunch and per diem for the period of workshop.
