Cote d'Ivoire names 28-man provisional squad for Brazil 2014 World Cup

The coach of Cote d’Ivoire’s Elephants, Sabri Lamouchi, on Tuesday in Abidjan released a tentative list of 28 players to represent the country at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
 
Lamouchi told newsmen that the final list of players to defend the Ivorian national colours at the mundial would be released before the commencement of the competition.
 
The 2014 FIFA World Cup slated for Brazil has been scheduled to run from June 12 to July 13.
 
The coach said his intention was to put up a team which would exhibit brilliance at the tournament.
 
"The team will travel to the US on May 24 for a training camp in Dallas, ahead of warm-up games against Bosnia on May 30 and El Salvador on June 4.
 
"We will reduce the team to 23 players, after these games and training sessions," Lamouchi said.
 
The list is as follows:
 
Goalkeepers: Boubacar Barry, Sylvain Gbohou, Sayouba Mande and Badra Sangara.
 
Defenders: Serge Aurier, Benjamin Angoua, Brice Djedje, Jean-Daniel Akpa-Akpro, Didier Zokora, Kolo Toure, Souleman Bamba, Arthur Boka, Constant Djakpa and Ousmane Viera.
 
Midfielders: Cheik Tiote, Serey Die, Ismael Diomande, Didier Konan, Yaya Toure, Max Grade and Mathis Bolly
 
Attackers: Didier Drogba, Wilfried Bony, Gervinho, Salomon Kalou, Lacina Traore, Giovanni Sio and Seydou Doumbia.
 
The Ivorian team will face Japan, Colombia and Greece in Group C at the group stage of the competition.
