Aminta Hydara emerges first female governor in The Gambia

Mrs Aminta Hydara has become the first female governor in The Gambian.
Her appointment as the first female governor was announced on Thursday in Banjul.
She was appointed governor of the West Coast Region by the Gambian President Yahya Jammeh.
Before her new appointment, Hydara was working at the Kanifing Municipal Council as ward councilor
She replaced Alhagie Sanneh who has been redeployed as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Regional Administration and Local Government.
